The "other piece"...

I posted a picture of "Gumper" I took in my earlier photography years...I figured I should post a pic of the love of his life...Alice...he spoke of her often and missed her terribly once she passed on...I spent many nights and had many beers talking about the old days...and what a gifted women, wife, mother and friend she was to so many...

I still remember him carrying this picture (which I printed for him in my grandmothers darkroom) in his wallet for the 20 or so years he lived after she passed...it always brought a tear to his eye! I hope everyone loves somebody like that at least once in there lives!

Here she is...Alice...my Grandmother...my mentor...my protector...and a great friend!

New film scanner...

So...I bought an Epson V500 Photo scanner and I have to say it is by far the best thing I've purchased in a long time. After going through three binders of film I've decided to go back to film and traditional printing. Digital has it's place but I'm in an "artsy fartsy" mood lately which I have to say has eluded me for many years, after "making money" in photography...it's pleasant to go back to traditional photography...I'm enjoying it! Off to the darkroom tomorrow...:-)

Here's a picture of my Grandfather whom we called "gump" not "Forrest Gump" just "Gump"...he made it to the ripe old age of 98!
